The PCID is a cookie containing an encrypted unique string stored on your computer. It is used in combination with your login name to allow customisation of this application, store form settings and information necessary for the running of the application in the database.
This cookie is "persistent", i.e. it will remain in your browser when you have exited. Next time you access this site as the same user (from the same browser) all your previous settings, such as datatypes, will be available. The PCID is local to your browser. Using a different browser on the same computer or another computer (while using the same username) will use a different PCID and hence a different set of settings. Cookies must be enabled for this site to work.
This PCID cookie is used only in this web application. All personal information stored conforms to NIWA's Privacy Policy.
